Social systems

A Band of traveling hunters that move when they have exhausted their resources. They live and operate high in the trees to avoid predators and passerbys below. They feed on creatures found on their elevation, from fruits, leaves and small mammals. The hunters consist of a single chieftain and his partner that organizes most of the band’s activities.

A dominant trait of the people is their tough leather like skin that they have adapted to due to the rough bark and thorns in the trees. Their culture is very much reliant on their physical enriment and they change according to that. They also are able to share ideas and collections of data through written scripts on big leaves on paper that are stored in bags made out of tree bark. Encounters are often rare but other bands sometimes but just for the purpose of passing on information. Their mythos and ideology believes in life after death and they worship a nature deity, similar to mother nature.

Their primary form of communication is via sign language and various quick sounds they make with their teeth biting. Judicial systems are often considered harsh in most cultures but a crime will result in complete expulsion from the band and to never return. Responsibly divisions are expected from all ages and the mentality of being independent is introduced since infancy - sinking or swimming. Ethos wise, because of their belief in the deity, the supernatural beliefs are there. The band of people do not travel and eat on the fourth day of each week out of religious respect for the tree they harvest from, from a biological standpoint, it also allows the crops to grow back.

The family structure is smaller than most and might not include all members of a family as some might be in different bands. Sexual regulations are similar to our society’s code and dating and courting is evident. Food preferences are open to anything they can forage around them for. With the exception of what resides below, which is considered to be dirty and unclean. Food is prepared over the fire and roasted till cooked. Body decorations is minimal and are made out of the materials around them, such as vines leaves and mud. The mud is used for body markings to distinguish people from each other.

Comparing this to other categories of social organization, the band of hunters operate on a tribal government system with a leader and its partner that make most of the executive decisions and is succeeded by blood and in some cases a vote if no heir is present. This judgement system has served them well over the years as good leaders have fulfilled their roles with unbiased judgement and in the case of a disagreement, a vote would be casted to determine the fate of the accused.

A unique trait of this social organization is that no gender is present and all members of the tribe are able to reproduce asexually. Gestures and body language are often aggressive to our humans but help distinguish bands from each other with their unique movements that define them.
